The wait for the results of over 5 million students who appeared for the 2026 Class 10 and 12 examinations conducted by the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Asia’s largest examination body, is nearing an end.

According to UP Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh, the results are likely to be declared in the last week of April.

“Following the completion of the answer sheet evaluation process, tabulation and data processing are currently underway. It will take approximately 20 to 25 days to prepare the results after evaluation,” Singh said.

EVALUATION PROCESS COMPLETED

The evaluation of UP Board answer sheets was completed on April 4, spanning 15 working days from March 18 to April 4. Initially scheduled to end by April 1, the process was extended to accommodate holidays for Eid and Ram Navami.

A total of 27.5 million answer sheets belonging to nearly 5.34 million students were evaluated. 153,000 examiners carried out the task under strict CCTV surveillance, and the use of mobile phones was strictly prohibited.

Armed police were deployed round-the-clock at the 254 designated evaluation centres to ensure maximum security.

HOW MANY STUDENTS APPEARED IN UP BAORD EXAM?

For 2026, 2,761,696 candidates registered for the High School (Class 10) exams, while 2,576,082 registered for the Intermediate (Class 12) exams.

Out of these, approximately 2.6 million candidates appeared for Class 10, and about 2.45 million appeared for Class 12. Around 287,000 candidates were absent across both levels.

The examinations were conducted at 8,033 centres across the state, reflecting the massive scale of operations managed by the UP Board.

RESULTS TIMELINE AND EXPECTATIONS

For reference, the UP Board had announced last year’s results on April 25, 2025, 23 days after the evaluation was completed.

Following the current pace, Secretary Singh has confirmed that the 2026 results will be released on time, offering students and parents a much-awaited update on academic performance.

Experts suggest that the timely announcement of results will also help students plan their next academic steps, including admissions, entrance exams, and career guidance sessions, without delay.
