Volkswagen Tayron Life launched in India at Rs 41.99 lakh
Volkswagen has expanded its premium SUV portfolio in India with the launch of the locally assembled Tayron Life, offering a five-seat cabin, a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with all-wheel drive setup, and an extensive list of comfort and safety features.

Positioned as a premium five-seater SUV, the Tayron Life is aimed at buyers seeking a blend of space, technology, comfort and performance. It also becomes the second locally assembled Volkswagen model to be introduced in India this year, further strengthening the brand's premium SUV portfolio.
The Tayron Life is underpinned by generous dimensions, measuring 4,792mm in length with a 2,789mm wheelbase, allowing for a spacious cabin. One of its standout highlights is the 885-litre boot, which can be expanded to 2,090 litres by folding the rear seats, making it one of the most practical offerings in its segment.
Exterior design and colour options
The Tayron Life adopts Volkswagen's latest global design language with LED Plus headlamps, an illuminated front grille and Volkswagen logo, 18-inch Bologna alloy wheels, black roof rails and connected 3D LED tail lamps with an illuminated rear Volkswagen badge. Projection lighting for the ORVMs and illuminated door-handle troughs add to the premium appeal.
Volkswagen is offering the Tayron Life in Dolphin Grey Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Oyster Silver Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Ultraviolet Metallic, Oryx White Mother-of-Pearl Effect and Grenadilla Black Metallic.
2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with AWD
Powering the Tayron Life is a 2.0-litre TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and Volkswagen's 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. The engine develops 204bhp and 320Nm of peak torque. Suspension duties are handled by McPherson struts at the front and a multi-link rear suspension, promising a balance of comfort and driving dynamics.
Premium cabin with large screens and massage seats
Inside, the Tayron Life gets a feature-rich cabin centred around a 26.03cm Digital Cockpit and a 32.77cm touchscreen infotainment system with wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. An 8-speaker audio system, wireless charging for two smartphones, paddle shifters and multiple USB ports further enhance convenience.
The SUV also focuses heavily on occupant comfort. It comes equipped with ergoActive electrically adjustable front seats featuring 12-way adjustment, lumbar support, heating, ventilation and an eight-program massage function. Other highlights include a three-zone automatic climate control system, panoramic sunroof, keyless access, powered tailgate with hands-free operation, rear sun blinds, sliding and reclining second-row seats, rain-sensing wipers, and six selectable drive modes including Eco, Comfort, Sport, Individual, Off-road and Snow.
Level 2 ADAS and nine airbags
Safety is another key focus of the Tayron Life. The SUV is equipped with nine airbags and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) comprising 14 features. These include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, rear traffic alert, exit warning, driver drowsiness alert, Park Assist Plus, rear-view camera, pedestrian and cyclist detection, and automatic high-beam assist.
Other safety equipment includes electronic stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear disc brakes, electronic differential lock (XDS), ISOFIX child-seat mounts, dynamic cornering lights and an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror.
