by Auto Today · India TodayThe Tata Nexon has received a new Pure+ PS variant, and with it, the compact SUV has become the first car in India under Rs 10 lakh to offer a panoramic sunroof.
Priced from Rs 9.59 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Nexon Pure+ PS aims to make a premium feature, usually reserved for more higher variants. The panoramic sunroof on the Nexon is voice-assisted as well, adding to the SUV’s appeal.
Tata Motors says the introduction of this variant further strengthens the Nexon’s value proposition, especially at a time when sunroofs have become one of the most sought-after features among Indian buyers.
The Nexon Pure+ PS continues Tata’s multi-powertrain approach and will be offered with petrol, diesel and Twin Cylinder iCNG options. The petrol and iCNG versions are powered by the 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that develops 120bhp at 5,500rpm. Meanwhile, the diesel variant continues to be among the most fuel-efficient offerings in the compact SUV segment.
Apart from the headline panoramic sunroof feature, the Nexon Pure+ PS comes equipped with a long list of features. These include a 10.25-inch Harman infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6-speaker sound system, cruise control, auto LED headlamps, rain-sensing front and rear wipers, HD rear-view camera with guidelines and parking sensors, LED tail lamps, and electrically adjustable ORVMs with auto-fold function.
Pricing (ex-showroom) for the new Nexon Pure+ PS is as follows:
- Petrol MT – Rs 9.59 lakh
- Petrol AMT – Rs 10.14 lakh
- Twin Cylinder iCNG MT – Rs 10.39 lakh
- Diesel MT – Rs 10.54 lakh
- Diesel AMT – Rs 11.19 lakh
The Tata Nexon has been one of the strongest players in the compact SUV segment since its launch. It became India’s first car to secure a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating and later achieved a 5-star Bharat NCAP score as well. The SUV is also among the few models in the country to be offered with petrol, diesel, CNG and electric powertrain choices, giving buyers a wide range of options depending on their requirements. With over 10 lakh Nexons already on Indian roads, Tata Motors continues to strengthen the SUV’s position with regular feature and variant updates.
