Skoda Auto has officially revealed the production-spec Epiq, its new entry-level electric SUV positioned below the Skoda Elroq in the brand’s growing EV portfolio. Designed as the Czech carmaker’s most affordable fully electric model globally, the Epiq combines compact dimensions with practical packaging, modern tech and an accessible price point aimed at expanding EV adoption in Europe.

Built on the Volkswagen Group’s new-generation MEB+ platform, the Epiq is also the first Skoda EV to feature a front-wheel-drive layout. The platform has been optimised for smaller electric vehicles, allowing the use of lighter battery packs while improving interior space and efficiency. Skoda says the Epiq will play a key role in its electrification strategy alongside the upcoming Peaq SUV, effectively doubling the brand’s all-electric line-up.

The Epiq is also significant for being the first production Skoda model to fully adopt the brand’s new ‘Modern Solid’ design language. Up front, the SUV features a glossy black Tech-Deck Face flanked by slim T-shaped LED lighting signatures that are expected to become a hallmark of future koda SUVs. Clean body surfacing, upright proportions and aero-focused detailing help the Epiq achieve a drag coefficient of just 0.275.

Measuring 4,171mm in length with a 2,601mm wheelbase, the Epiq sits firmly in the compact SUV category. Despite its footprint, Skoda claims the EV offers generous practicality, including a 475-litre boot, among the largest in its class, along with a 25-litre front trunk. Additional storage spaces throughout the cabin further enhance usability.

Inside, the Epiq follows a minimalist approach with a clean dashboard layout centred around a 13-inch Android-based infotainment system. The system supports extensive personalisation, third-party applications such as Spotify and Google Maps, along with wireless smartphone connectivity. Depending on the variant, features on offer include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, a 10-speaker Canton audio system and advanced driver assistance systems.

Skoda has also focused heavily on sustainability. The Epiq is the brand’s first production car to use exclusively animal-free materials, replacing conventional leather with a durable alternative called Techtona. Seat upholstery across the range uses 100 percent recycled polyester fibres, while more than 34kg of recycled materials have been incorporated throughout the vehicle.

Powering the Epiq are two battery options and three drivetrain variants. The entry-level Epiq 35 and Epiq 40 use a 38.5kWh battery pack paired with outputs of 85kW (116bhp) and 99kW (135bhp) respectively, both producing 267Nm of torque and offering a claimed range of around 310km. The top-spec Epiq 55 gets a larger 55kWh battery and develops 155kW (211bhp) and 290Nm, delivering a claimed range of approximately 440km.

The Epiq 55 also supports DC fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in around 24 minutes, while all variants come standard with 11kW AC charging. The EV additionally supports bidirectional charging functions including vehicle-to-load (V2L), vehicle-to-home (V2H) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G), depending on infrastructure compatibility.

One of the standout features is the introduction of full one-pedal driving in B mode, a first for a Skoda EV. Drivers can control acceleration and deceleration using only the accelerator pedal, with adjustable regenerative braking levels helping maximise energy recuperation.

On the safety front, the Epiq comes equipped with seven airbags as standard, including a centre airbag, along with systems such as Front Assist, Side Assist, Lane Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition. Higher trims can be equipped with Travel Assist 3.0, which adds advanced semi-autonomous driving functions, traffic light response and intelligent parking assistance.

Shortly after launch, Skoda will also introduce a limited-run First Edition based on the Epiq 55 variant. This version adds exclusive Navajo Orange exterior accents, a black roof, unique 20-inch alloy wheels and bespoke interior detailing including orange stitching and sports pedals.
