A video of a man appearing at a public hearing in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa wearing a dog mask brought back memories of another dog-related internet moment - the Jaipur Nagar Nigam website, known for its surprisingly straightforward complaint options for animal-related issues.
Earlier this week, a man was brought to the hearing by Khandwa Municipal Corporation Leader of Opposition Deepak (Mullu) Rathore, who used the stunt to point out alleged irregularities in the civic body's dog sterilisation drive.
Amid videos of this unusual protest going viral, users couldn't help but notice X user Ravi Handa's post, where he had previously shared a screenshot of the Jaipur Nagar Nigam website, pointing out the complaint portal's unusually direct Hindi-language categories.
The portal has several sub-categories that residents can choose while registering complaints, including “Dog bahut ho gaye hain (There are too many dogs)," “Monkey bahut ho gaye hain (There are too many monkeys)," “Pig bahut ho gaye hain (There are too many pigs),"and “Dog pagal ho gaya hai pakadwana hain (The dog has gone mad and needs to be caught)."
Sharing the screenshot, Ravi wrote, “I love how real the Jaipur Nagar Nigam website is. Yes. This is the official website.”

The same complaint categories went viral back in 2024, when people were amused by how the website of Jaipur Municipal Corporation - Greater used simple, everyday Hindi instead of the formal version of the language in its complaint categories.
The options stood out because of how plainly they described the problems residents might want to report.
The old post had its moment online in 2024, but the screenshot found its way back into the conversation after the Khandwa dog-mask video went viral.
As part of the unusual protest in Khandwa, Deepak (Mullu) Rathore presented the masked person as a dog raising questions over alleged corruption in the name of stray dogs.
He claimed that the ‘dog’ had undergone sterilisation but had still become the father of six puppies, questioning whether the sterilisation programme had actually been carried out.

The protest may have started as a way to bring attention to Khandwa's stray dog problem, but online, it ended up reviving an entirely different dog-related internet moment, a Jaipur civic website that once asked residents, in the simplest possible terms, whether there were too many dogs.
