Actor Abhishek Bachchan talked about finding hope and positivity in difficult times. In an interview recently, where he was promoting his latest film I Want to Talk, AB Jr. mentioned identifying one's true self and searching for a 'silver lining'. His statement about life and purpose comes amid speculation of his separation/ divorce with wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Bachchan spoke to ETimes and underscored the importance of having determination in life. He opened up on not losing oneself and sticking to one's values. Jr Bachchan said, "Hindi mein ek shabd hai 'dhridhta' (there's a word in Hindi called 'hridhta, meaning determination). Somewhere, who you are as a person shouldn’t change. Your fundamentals shouldn’t change. You have to learn to adapt and evolve, or you will be left behind, but your fundamental values shouldn’t change."
He added,"So, I still do believe that 'jab bura apni buraai na chhode toh accha apni acchai kyun chhode? (If one doesn't let go of their own flaws, why should they let go of their goodness?)' I cannot change the person I am. I am a very positive person, and you cannot concentrate on the negatives. When you concentrate on the negatives, it’s going to overwhelm you."
Abhishek, who's a father to a daughter named Aaradhya Bachchan, emphasised that one should look for inspiration and happy things in life to lead it as peacefully as possible. "Also, as a man, who are you? What are you standing for? If I’m going to be a leaf in the wind, people will say he’s not a solid person. Hence, some things in me don’t change," he shared.
The 48-year-old continued, "When you see a silver lining on the cloud, or a ray of sunshine, hold on to it. Because that will give you the impetus, inspiration, and reason to carry on in life. It’s very easy for people to get swallowed by darkness and negativity... no matter how tough the obstacle may be, find the ray of hope."
Abhishek and Aishwarya got married in 2007. While neither they nor their family members have spoken anything about their marriage, speculations have been rife about their separation for a long time.
