- CBSE said the revised arrangement is aimed at greater oversight
As thousands of students await the outcome of verification and re-evaluation requests, CBSE has taken a fresh step to strengthen oversight of the process. The board has shifted all answer-sheet data and records from the servers of COEMPT Eduteck Pvt Ltd to CBSE-controlled servers.
The move comes at a time when the board has been facing questions over evaluation practices, portal glitches and concerns related to data security following the rollout of the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
SAME PLATFORM, NEW SAFEGUARDS
While CBSE has taken direct control of the storage of answer-sheet records, the re-evaluation process itself will continue to run on COEMPT Eduteck's OSM platform.
The company will continue scanning answer sheets and supporting the re-evaluation workflow. However, the storage and management of answer-sheet data will now remain under CBSE's control.
The arrangement is aimed at ensuring greater oversight while allowing the ongoing re-evaluation exercise to continue without disruption for students.
FOCUS ON CYBER SECURITY
The board has also introduced additional measures to protect the portal from cyber threats.
According to officials, steps have been taken to secure the system against potential data breaches and cyber attacks. The strengthened security framework comes after heightened scrutiny of examination-related digital platforms and growing concerns about online vulnerabilities during the current results season.
The move is expected to provide an extra layer of protection as lakhs of students continue accessing answer sheets, applying for verification and tracking re-evaluation requests.
RE-EVALUATION PROCESS CONTINUES
The decision is unlikely to affect students who have already applied for verification or re-evaluation. The process will continue through the existing OSM platform, with scanning and assessment operations remaining in place.
For students, the immediate focus remains on receiving updated results and resolving marking-related concerns. For CBSE, the priority appears to be ensuring that the process remains secure, transparent and operational while handling a large volume of applications.
The latest move signals a balancing act: retaining the technology already being used for re-evaluation while bringing critical student data under direct board control.
