Range Rover launches SV Ultra in India at Rs 3.80 crore

The luxury SUV comes with a 540hp V8 mild-hybrid engine, an ultra-premium cabin and an immersive audio system.

Range Rover has launched the new Range Rover SV Ultra in India at a starting price of Rs 3.80 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Positioned as the most luxurious and technologically advanced Range Rover ever, the SV Ultra introduces exclusive design elements, new sustainable interior materials and a world-first electrostatic audio system.

The SUV is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The engine develops 540bhp (395kW) and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive. Range Rover claims the SV Ultra can sprint from 0-100kmph in 4.9 seconds, while its top speed is electronically limited to 261kmph. It also comes equipped with adaptive suspension, all-wheel steering and multiple terrain response modes as standard.

World's first electrostatic audio system

The biggest highlight of the SV Ultra is its SV Electrostatic Sound system, claimed to be the world's first application of electrostatic speaker technology in a production vehicle.

The setup features 21 ultra-thin electrostatic transducers integrated into the headrests, seatbacks, roof lining and other speaker locations, creating an individual soundstage for every occupant. Unlike conventional speakers, each electrostatic unit uses a membrane just 1mm thick, enabling significantly faster response and improved audio clarity with minimal distortion.

Range Rover says the technology consumes up to 90 per cent less power, weighs 90 per cent less than traditional coil speakers and is manufactured using 100 per cent upcycled and recyclable materials by mass, without the use of rare earth elements.

The system has also undergone over 1,000 hours of testing in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 65°C to ensure reliability under extreme conditions.

Immersive luxury cabin

The new audio system works alongside Range Rover's Body and Soul Seats (BASS) and the Sensory Floor, allowing occupants not only to hear but also physically feel the music through haptic feedback. The SUV also offers six wellness programmes, including Calm and Invigorating modes, designed to enhance relaxation and focus during journeys.

Inside, the SV Ultra debuts a leather-free Orchid White and Cinder Grey Ultrafabrics interior featuring laser-crafted mosaic perforations on the seats. The cabin is further distinguished by a natural open-pore rattan palm veneer, gloss white ceramic trim, Orchid Pearl-finished speaker grilles, colour-matched white seatbelts and exclusive SV Ultra-branded treadplates.

Exterior styling

The SV Ultra also introduces an exclusive Titan Silver exterior paint finish that uses real aluminium flakes and advanced pigments to create a liquid metal-inspired appearance. Satin Platinum Atlas and Silver Chrome accents, along with newly designed 23-inch alloy wheels featuring Satin Platinum inserts, further differentiate the flagship model from other Range Rover variants.

Electric version to follow

For now, the Range Rover SV Ultra is available exclusively with the V8 mild-hybrid powertrain. Range Rover has confirmed that a fully electric version of the SV Ultra will join the lineup later this year.
