Tata Motors has expanded the Nexon lineup with the launch of the Nexon Camo, a new special edition that celebrates a decade of the compact SUV in India. Priced from Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the limited-period model brings cosmetic enhancements, additional technology and new premium colour options while retaining the SUV's existing petrol, diesel and CNG powertrain choices.

The Nexon Camo will be offered on Creative and higher variants, with prices extending up to Rs 13.94 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the trim and powertrain. It will continue to take on rivals such as the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq and Kia Syros.

Tata Nexon CAMO: What's different?

The most noticeable changes come in the form of two exclusive exterior paint options: Munnar Mist and Coorg Cloud. While Munnar Mist is a deep green shade that changes its appearance depending on the lighting, Coorg Cloud adopts a metallic grey finish with subtle silver highlights. The SUV also receives dedicated Camo badges on the front fenders, along with Camo-themed perforation on the front seat headrests to distinguish it from the standard model.

Inside, Tata Motors has upgraded the infotainment experience with a larger 12.3-inch Harman touchscreen, replacing the 10.25-inch unit available on equivalent Nexon variants. The SUV continues with a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, now featuring embedded navigation.

Another notable addition is an integrated dashcam, which works in conjunction with the 360-degree surround-view camera system and supports storage capacities of up to 256GB while also offering impact-event recording.

Loaded with features

Beyond the CAMO-specific updates, the special edition retains the Nexon's extensive equipment list. Depending on the variant, buyers get a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a nine-speaker JBL audio system with subwoofer, wireless phone charging, connected car technology, a 360-degree camera with blind-spot view monitor, and ADAS with seven driver assistance functions.

Safety equipment also remains comprehensive, including six airbags, electronic stability programme (ESP) and Tata's suite of active and passive safety technologies.

Powertrain options remain unchanged

Mechanically, the Nexon Camo is identical to the standard SUV. Customers can choose from three engine options:

  • 1.2-litre turbo-petrol producing 120bhp and 170 Nm
  • 1.5-litre turbo-diesel delivering 115bhp and 260 Nm
  • 1.2-litre turbo-petrol iCNG developing 100bhp and 170 Nm

Transmission choices continue to include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, depending on the selected engine and variant.

With the introduction of the Camo edition, Tata Motors is aiming to add a more distinctive visual identity and a richer technology package to one of India's highest-selling compact SUVs ahead of the festive buying season, while keeping the familiar range of powertrains and feature-rich proposition intact.
