Porsche has officially opened order books in India for the latest 911 GT3, bringing the updated 992.2-generation track-focused sports car to the country. Priced at Rs 3.33 crore (ex-showroom), the new GT3 lands in India around 18 months after making its international debut and continues to serve as the most hardcore road-going version of the 911 range.

At the heart of the 911 GT3 is a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine that develops 510hp and 450Nm. The motor revs all the way to 9,000rpm and is paired exclusively with a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission for the Indian market, sending power to the rear wheels.

Porsche claims the GT3 can sprint from 0-100kmph in just 3.4 seconds before reaching a top speed of 311kph. To enhance handling precision and driver engagement, the sports car comes equipped with rear-wheel steering, Porsche Torque Vectoring, active sport suspension and a lightweight stainless-steel sports exhaust system as standard.

The front end features a redesigned bonnet with integrated air ducts, larger cooling intakes and a more pronounced front splitter.

The sports car rides on staggered alloy wheels measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear, wrapped in high-performance tyres.

The rear profile remains unmistakably GT3 thanks to its towering fixed wing, integrated ducktail spoiler and centrally mounted dual exhaust outlets. Porsche has also revised the diffuser and rear aero elements to further improve downforce and stability at high speeds.

Buyers seeking a more focused driving experience can opt for the Weissach package, priced at Rs 43.9 lakh. The package introduces extensive use of carbon fibre across the bonnet, roof and exterior trim, along with lightweight doors, a carbon-fibre roll cage, six-point harnesses and several other weight-saving measures. Customers can also choose a version without the roll cage at a lower cost.

For those who regularly visit race circuits, Porsche is offering the Manthey performance kit at an additional cost of Rs 1 crore. Developed to maximise lap-time performance, the package includes aerodynamic enhancements such as a larger rear wing, rear-wheel aerodiscs, front canards and an extensively reworked diffuser. Suspension, braking hardware and chassis settings have also been upgraded to deliver sharper track capability.

Inside, the GT3 largely mirrors the standard 911's cabin layout but incorporates model-specific touches. These include a traditional gear selector, unique trim details and an analogue stopwatch positioned atop the dashboard as part of the standard Sport Chrono package. Unlike the Carrera, the GT3 does not feature rear seats.

The equipment list remains generous, featuring a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charging, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, an eight-speaker audio system and electrically adjustable sports seats.

With the arrival of the updated 992.2 model, Porsche continues to offer Indian enthusiasts one of the few remaining naturally aspirated, high-revving sports cars on sale today.
