Redmi Turbo 5 is coming to India, here is everything you need to know about it

In January, Redmi launched the Redmi Turbo 5 in China alongside the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. Now, the brand has confirmed that the Turbo 5 will make its way to India. Notably, this will be the first smartphone of the Redmi Turbo series in the country. The company has already started teasing the smartphone online to build excitement and increase popularity ahead of its launch. This led to the revealing of the device’s design and colour.

Since the smartphone has already launched in China, we can get a fair idea of what the device may offer in the Indian market. Additionally, a dedicated microsite has already gone live on Amazon, suggesting that the smartphone will be available for purchase through the platform after launch. For Indian buyers, we can say the smartphone is going to come at least in a black colourway. More information about the device will surface as the launch timeline comes closer.
Redmi Turbo 5 features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. The panel supports a 1268 x 2756 pixel resolution and 3840Hz PWM dimming for improved eye comfort.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset built on a 4nm process, paired with the Mali-G720 MC8 GPU. It runs on Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and comes with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.
For photography, the Redmi Turbo 5 sports a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. On the front, the device houses a 20-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone supports video recording at up to 4K 60fps along with HDR10+ support.
To keep the lights on, the device packs a large 7,560mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 100W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging.
Other notable features include stereo speakers with Hi-Res audio support and an in-display fingerprint scanner for security. For longevity, the device carries an IP68 and top-of-the-line IP69K rating for dust and water resistance. The smartphone has a glass front with an aluminium frame and weighs 204 grams. In terms of colours, the smartphone is available in China in three colourways: Black, White, and Mint.
