'Shaksgam Valley is Indian territory': India rejects China–Pakistan claims
by Shivang Shukla · India TodayIndia has reiterated that the Shaksgam Valley is Indian territory and that it has never recognised the 1963 China–Pakistan boundary agreement. The region was part of the erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir and became part of India after accession in 1947, before Pakistan occupied it during the war that year. New Delhi’s remarks come amid reports of Chinese infrastructure construction in the area, which India says violates its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
