Hanuman Ansh storms into Top 3 grossers, leaves Peddi, Toxic, Jana Nayagan behind

Hanuman Ansh added Rs 4.90 crore nett on Day 47, taking its India total to Rs 280.93 crore and its worldwide gross to Rs 366.45 crore. The low-budget devotional drama has now moved past several bigger 2026 releases and is closing in on Border 2 domestically.

Hanuman Ansh has gone from a Rs 10-lakh opener to one of the biggest theatrical success stories of 2026. The Vishal Chaturvedi-directed devotional drama has now entered the top three highest-grossing Indian films of the year worldwide, crossing the collections of Yash-starrer Toxic, Ram Charan’s Peddi and Vijay’s Jana Nayagan in the process. The film crossed the Rs 350-crore mark worldwide after 46 days in theatres.

The latest milestone came after an extraordinary seventh weekend. Hanuman Ansh collected Rs 13.75 crore nett (gross minus taxes) in India on Day 45, followed by Rs 4 crore nett on Day 46 and Rs 4.90 nett on Day 47, according to trade website Sacnilk figures. Its India nett total has now reached Rs 280.93 crore, while its India gross stands at Rs 325.80 crore. With Rs 26.50 crore from overseas, the film's worldwide gross has climbed to Rs 366.45 crore.

Hanuman Ansh enters 2026's worldwide Top 3

The achievement puts Hanuman Ansh behind only Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 on the 2026 worldwide box-office chart, according to current trade reports. It had previously entered the top three among Bollywood's highest-grossing films of the year after overtaking Mirzapur: The Movie and Bhooth Bangla. Its latest surge has now taken it past major releases from across Indian cinema.

The most striking part of the run is the trajectory. The film opened to just Rs 10 lakh and earned only around Rs 1.50 crore in its first two weeks. Its fortunes changed dramatically thereafter, with audience word of mouth driving a sustained theatrical run. Since its fourth week, it has been posting unusually strong weekly numbers, including more than Rs 90 crore in its fifth week.

Toxic, Peddi and Jana Nayagan left behind

Hanuman Ansh crossed Ram Charan's Peddi and Yash's Toxic at the worldwide box office following its seventh-weekend surge. Peddi had ended its worldwide run at around Rs 341.90 crore, while Toxic stood at approximately Rs 341.99 crore. Hanuman Ansh moved past both after its worldwide total reached Rs 347.05 crore on Day 45.

The film also surpassed the worldwide collections of actor-turned-chief minister Vijay's Jana Nayagan (which earned around Rs 325 crore) along the way, adding another major 2026 release to its list of overtaken titles. It has similarly moved ahead of Nivin Pauly's Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, Chiranjeevi's Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu and Suriya's Karuppu, according to recent trade reports.

What makes those milestones notable is the difference in scale. Toxic, Peddi and Jana Nayagan arrived as major star-driven releases, while Hanuman Ansh began its theatrical run as a relatively small devotional film. The film was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 2 crore, making its eventual worldwide haul particularly striking.

A box-office run that defied its opening

The film's week-wise trajectory explains how it pulled off the turnaround. After its first two weeks yielded only Rs 1.48 crore, Hanuman Ansh collected Rs 10.40 crore in Week 3, followed by Rs 61 crore in Week 4 and a remarkable Rs 90.25 crore in Week 5. Its sixth week added another Rs 80.25 crore.

The seventh weekend continued that momentum. It earned Rs 5 crore nett on Friday, Rs 9.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 13.75 crore on Sunday, taking the weekend total to Rs 28.50 crore. Even after a sharp Monday drop, the film added another Rs 4 crore nett on Day 46.

The film's overseas journey has been slower because of its delayed international release, meaning its worldwide total has been built largely on sustained domestic business.

Border 2 is the next domestic benchmark

While Hanuman Ansh has now secured a place in the worldwide Top 3, its next major target is on the domestic front. Sunny Deol's Border 2 reportedly finished with an India nett collection of Rs 329.43 crore.

With Hanuman Ansh currently at Rs 275.88 crore nett in India, it needs roughly Rs 53.55 crore more to surpass Border 2 domestically. Its ability to continue drawing audiences into its eighth week will determine whether it can add that milestone to an already extraordinary run. Border 2's worldwide gross stands at Rs 464.50 crore, while Hanuman Ansh's global collection is now at Rs 366.45 crore.

For a film that opened at just Rs 10 lakh, the journey to Rs 352.30 crore worldwide has been anything but conventional. Hanuman Ansh is now no longer simply a surprise Hindi hit — it sits among the three biggest Indian films of 2026 worldwide, alongside two of the year's biggest theatrical blockbusters.

All About Hanuman Ansh

Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh is based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, popularly known as Mahara- ji. Shobhinaw Satyaa plays the spiritual figure, with Chandan Anand and an ensemble cast including Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Nikhil Dubey, Udaysinh Rajput and Mannish Chaudhary.
