The five-year-old leopard that had caused panic after it was found strolling on the streets in Bengaluru's Electronic City, was caught last night. The leopard was caught in a cage which was placed near the helipad area, a deserted location on the outskirts of Bengaluru's IT hub.

The forest department is expected to shift the captured leopard to Bannerghatta Biological Park.

The forest officials had launched an extensive search operation after the animal's presence in the tech hub came to light. Cameras were installed at various locations and thermal drones were deployed to track the leopard's movement.

The animal was caught over a week after a video surfaced, showing the animal crossing a flyover road near a toll plaza at 3 am. The residents of the tech hub were put on high alert after the animal was spotted.

Police and forest officials suspect that it may be the same leopard that was spotted earlier this month in Jigani.
