Mercedes-AMG A45 S Aero Track Edition launched in India at Rs 87 lakh

Mercedes-Benz has launched the Mercedes-AMG A45 S Aero Track Edition in India, bringing back its iconic hot hatch with enhanced aerodynamics, aggressive styling, and the same potent 421bhp performance.

Mercedes-Benz has reintroduced its high-performance hatchback in India with the launch of the Mercedes-AMG A45 S Aero Track Edition, priced at Rs 87 lakh (ex-showroom). The limited-run model marks the return of the A45 badge to the Indian market after nearly three years, and notably undercuts the earlier A45 AMG’s last recorded price by about Rs 5.5 lakh.

Performance unchanged

Powering the Aero Track Edition is the familiar 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that also does duty in the standard A45 S. This motor produces 421bhp and 500Nm of torque, paired with an automatic transmission and the brand’s 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. With Launch Control engaged, the hot hatch is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in a claimed 3.9 seconds, while top speed is electronically capped at 270kmph.

Aero package adds function and flair

What sets this special edition apart is its focus on aerodynamic enhancements. Developed using wind tunnel testing, the AMG Aerodynamics Package introduces functional add-ons designed to improve high-speed stability and handling precision. These include a more pronounced front splitter with additional aero elements, a fixed rear wing, and a reworked rear diffuser. Together, these components help manage airflow more efficiently, increase downforce, and reduce lift at higher speeds.

Beyond performance gains, the package significantly amplifies the car’s visual aggression. Gloss-black finishes dominate the exterior detailing, lending the hatchback a sharper, motorsport-inspired stance.

Night Package enhances visual drama

Complementing the aero upgrades is the AMG Night Package, which brings further blacked-out elements across the exterior. Key highlights include gloss-black treatment for the front splitter, side skirts, ORVM housings, beltline and window surrounds, along with black chrome-finished exhaust tips. Depending on the body colour, these accents either create a stark contrast or blend seamlessly for a stealthier look.

Sporty stance with distinctive detailing

Rounding off the exterior upgrades are 19-inch AMG forged alloy wheels finished in matte black, paired with red-painted brake calipers that add a striking contrast.

With its combination of extreme performance, track-inspired aerodynamics and enhanced visual appeal, the A45 S Aero Track Edition positions itself as a niche offering for enthusiasts seeking exclusivity in the premium hatchback space.
