Mumbai Customs has arrested a 28-year-old woman for allegedly attempting to smuggle high-value drugs into India through Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

According to customs officials, the woman arrived on a flight from Bangkok and came under suspicion during routine checks. Officers conducted a detailed examination of her trolley bag and discovered 12 vacuum-sealed transparent plastic packets containing hydroponic weed, a high-quality form of cannabis.

Customs officials recovered 11.824 kilograms of hydroponic weed from the passenger's luggage. The seized contraband has an estimated value of Rs 11.82 crore in the international market.

Officials said the accused worked as a relationship manager in a company.

Mumbai Customs registered a case against the woman under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and arrested her. Authorities later produced her before a court, which remanded her to judicial custody.

The seizure is part of Customs' ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking through international airports.
