Sony launches 115-inch Bravia, its biggest TV in India with True RGB technology

Sony India has unveiled its biggest BRAVIA television yet, a massive 115-inch model that brings the company's True RGB display technology to its largest screen so far. Here's what the new flagship TV offers and how much it costs.

If there's one thing Sony knows well, it's televisions. The company has spent years refining the Bravia experience, offering top-notch picture quality and display experience. Now, the company is making the Bravia experience bigger and better. Quite literally. Sony has announced the 115-inch Bravia 9II (292 cm), its biggest television yet with True RGB display technology. With the launch of 115-inch Bravia 9II, Sony's True RGB line-up now includes seven models, ranging from 55 inches to 115 inches.

Sony says the new flagship is aimed at people looking for a cinema-like viewing experience at home. It features the company's True RGB technology, a 4K display, 120Hz refresh rate, Google TV and a 12-speaker audio system.

"With the introduction of the 115 (292 cm), we are pushing the boundaries of home entertainment by bringing an unprecedented, cinema-like experience into the home. Powered by our innovative True RGB technology and Bravia XR Processor, it delivers exceptional colour accuracy, stunning contrast and remarkable realism, allowing viewers to experience content exactly as the creators intended," said Nezu Daisuke, Global Head, Home Product Business Division, Sony Corporation.

Sony Bravia 9II 115-inch: Specs and features

The biggest talking point of the new BRAVIA 9II is, of course, its 115-inch screen. It features a 4K LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Sony has also equipped the TV with its RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro technology, which, according to the company, independently controls the red, green and blue LEDs to improve colour accuracy, contrast and brightness.

The TV also includes features such as X-Wide Angle Pro, Luminance Booster Pro and Smooth Colour Gradation, which are designed to maintain picture quality from different viewing angles and reduce colour banding.

Under the hood, the television is powered by Sony's XR Processor and includes picture enhancement features such as XR Contrast Booster 40, XR Motion Clarity and XR Clear Image. It also supports HDR formats including Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG, along with RGB TRILUMINOS Max and Live Colour Technology for improved colour reproduction.

Complementing the display, Sony has equipped the 115-inch Bravia 9II with a 12-speaker Acoustic Multi-Audio+ system, comprising two subwoofers, eight full-range speakers and two tweeters, delivering a total audio output of 85W. The TV also supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Audio and DTS.

On the software side, the television runs Google TV and comes with 32GB of onboard storage, built-in voice search and a microphone. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, four HDMI ports, two USB ports, Chromecast built-in, Apple AirPlay and Apple HomeKit. Gamers also get HDMI 2.1 features such as 4K at 120Hz, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), eARC and SBTM, along with Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode for the PS5. Sony also says Gemini for Google TV will roll out to supported models through a future over-the-air software update.

Sony Bravia 9II 115-inch: Price and availability in India

The new 115-inch Bravia 9II is priced at Rs 45,99,900 and is expected to go on sale in India soon.

If you don't need a screen quite that large, Sony also offers the 75-inch and 85-inch Bravia 9II models, priced at Rs 8,39,900 and Rs 9,89,900, respectively. Both models are already available in India.

The company has also refreshed its Bravia 7II lineup. Prices start at Rs 3,59,900 for the 55-inch model, while the 65-inch, 75-inch and 85-inch variants are priced at Rs 4,39,900, Rs 6,19,900 and Rs 7,19,900, respectively. All four models are available now.

Sony says the Bravia 9II and Bravia 7II televisions will be available through Sony Centre and Sony Exclusive stores, ShopatSC.com, as well as leading electronics retailers and major e-commerce platforms across India.
