Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, Tab S12+ launched: Price, specs and India details

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+, its latest flagship Android tablets. Both models feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, AMOLED displays, S Pen support and seven years of software updates.

Samsung has expanded its flagship tablet lineup with the launch of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+. The two new Android tablets bring Samsung’s latest tablet hardware, including the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, AMOLED displays and support for the S Pen.

The Galaxy Tab S12 series will go on sale in select markets from October 7. Samsung has not yet announced the India prices for either model. But, you can check out the specs below in case you were waiting for Samsung's new tab series.

Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, S12+ specifications

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is the larger and more premium model of the two. It comes with a 14.6-inch AMOLED display offering a 2,960 x 1,848 pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The tablet has a 11,600mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ features a smaller 12.6-inch display with a 2,800 x 1,752 pixel resolution. It packs a 10,600mAh battery, while charging support remains the same at 45W.

Both tablets are powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chipset and run Android 17 with Samsung's One UI 9 software. The software includes a multi-window setup that can divide the screen into up to three sections, along with Samsung's latest Galaxy AI features.

Samsung is also promising seven years of operating system and security updates for the new tablets.

For cameras, the Tab S12 Ultra gets two rear sensors - a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. The Tab S12+ has a single 13-megapixel rear camera. Both models have a 12-megapixel ultrawide front camera for selfies and video calls.

Connectivity options also differ between the two models. The Ultra supports Wi-Fi 7, while the Tab S12+ supports Wi-Fi 6E. Both tablets support Bluetooth 6.0, come with S Pen support and have a microSD card slot that can accommodate up to 2TB of additional storage.

Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra price

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra starts at $1,399 (roughly Rs 1,34,090) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. Samsung will also sell versions with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, as well as a 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variant.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ starts at $1,199 (roughly Rs 1,14,920) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. A 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model will also be available.

The Tab S12 Ultra retains much of the hardware approach seen on its predecessor, with the biggest hardware change being the move to the newer Dimensity 9500 chipset. Samsung says the new processor delivers 61 per cent faster NPU processing, 19 per cent faster CPU performance and 17 per cent better GPU performance compared with the Dimensity 9400+ used in the Tab S11 Ultra.

The Tab S12 Ultra weighs 692 grams and is 5.1mm thick. It will be available in grey and silver and comes with an S Pen.

For Indian buyers, Samsung has not revealed pricing yet. The previous Galaxy Tab 11 series currently starts at Rs 1,27,999 in India.
