Some motorcycles try too hard to stand out. After several months in our long-term garage, I can successfully report that the Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 doesn’t fall in that category. It shows up like it owns the place, thanks to its impeccable vibe. Unbothered, slightly flamboyant, and very aware of its charm. First, let’s talk about the design. Those white-wall tyres, the relaxed stance, the subtle nods to retro beach cruisers. It’s a head-turner in a way most motorcycles underplay today. Park it anywhere, and it gathers eyeballs quicker than most big bikes. Then you get on it. The riding posture is easygoing. Wide bars, feet slightly forward, and a seat that encourages you to slow life down a notch.
The familiar 350cc motor, shared with siblings like the Royal Enfield Classic 350, feels right at home here. It’s not urgent, never in a rush, and that’s precisely the point. It delivers its performance in a calm, almost therapeutic manner. But it’s not all sundowners and smooth sailing. The swingarm-mounted rear shocks do take away a bit from the plushness you’d expect from something this laid-back. Sharp bumps remind you that style sometimes comes at a cost. And those gorgeous white-wall tyres? They pick up dirt almost immediately. Yet, the Goan Classic isn’t about perfection. It’s about mood. It’s the kind of motorcycle that convinces you to take the longer way home, not because you have to, but because you suddenly want to, and that’s its biggest strength.
