New Delhi: North Korea has showcased its latest unmanned aerial technology, including artificial intelligence-powered drones, suicide attack systems, and a 600mm multiple rocket launcher, during a military exhibition and weapons demonstration attended by leader Kim Jong Un on October 29.
According to sources, the exhibition featured different types of tactical and multipurpose drones, alongside other military equipment.
The demonstration also included the firing of a 600mm multiple rocket launcher, known as the ‘Sniper’, which was publicly showcased in a firing exercise for the first time.
The North Korean military also demonstrated suicide attack drones, cruise missiles and air-to-surface missiles launched from unmanned aircraft.
Reports claim that the weapons struck their designated targets with 100 per cent accuracy. However, these performance claims have not been independently verified

Addressing the exhibition, Kim Jong Un called for North Korea to achieve what he described as “absolute superiority” in drone technology.
He stressed the need to accelerate the development of unmanned aerial systems and incorporate artificial intelligence into military equipment, describing these technologies as important to modern warfare.
The demonstration took place on the same day South Korea’s military detected around 10 short-range ballistic missiles launched from the Wonsan region towards the East Sea.
The projectiles reportedly travelled approximately 250 kilometres. South Korea is analysing the precise specifications of the launches.
The latest developments reflect Pyongyang’s growing focus on drone warfare and military AI as part of its broader weapons modernisation programme. North Korea has repeatedly highlighted unmanned systems as a priority for strengthening its military capabilities.
