Mumbai: Mumbai airport flights will operate as per the planned winter schedule with 265 weekly international slots. This was decided after meetings between the airport authorities, airlines and the Civil Aviation Ministry.

The move quells a plan to cut international departures by about 33%, relieving fears over potential airline disruptions to the winter schedule.

Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) is in the process of redeveloping Terminal 1, and construction is scheduled to start in January 2027.

There will probably be a need for changes to airport operations in the long term.

The airport operators and the airlines are likely to work out a plan to shift a number of flights from Navi Mumbai International Airport to Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport as future flight plans are devised.

Additional discussions are scheduled for 20 October and 28 October.

Flights will continue to operate during winter. However, passengers are advised to keep up to date on the situation with their airline.
