Chandipur beach loses charm! Development demanded, watch

Balasore: Chandipur, a once-thrusting tourist hotspot in Balasore district of Odisha, is fast losing its charm. The golden beach, known for its unique charm, has turned into a playground and grazing ground, with visiting tourists’ number declining day by day.
The beach, earlier looked picturesque with waves lashing against the shore, now sees unwanted bushes and grass while the water receding 5 km away. Experts attribute this to tidal currents and sedimentation from the nearby Budhabalanga River.
Despite being a major tourist draw, Chandipur beach has been neglected by authorities. The broken cement concrete embankment, damaged in the Yaas cyclone in 2021, remains unrepaired, and cleanliness is a far cry.
