BMW i5 LWB unveiled in India; Bookings open

BMW i5 LWB has been unveiled for the Indian market ahead of its launch. The luxury electric car is expected to launch in September, 2026. This is BMW’s second locally assembled EV for India and will start its innings with a First Edition for the first 99 buyers.
An official statement from the automaker has said that this largest and longest sedan in its segment in terms of size, with a length of 5.1-meters with a wheelbase of 3.10-meters. It is 100mm longer than the SWB i5 both in terms of overall length and wheelbase.
The company has claimed that the BMW i5 LWB combines executive comfort, progressive luxury, and effortless electric performance in one compelling package. With exceptional spaciousness, advanced technology, and up to 669 km* of range, it redefines what a luxury electric sedan can be.

Powering the i5 LWB is an electric motor sending 268bhp to the rear wheels and offering a 0 to 100 kmph time of 6.7 seconds. It gets an 81.6 kWh battery pack offering a driving range of up to 669 km (MIDC) on a single charge. As part of the deal, it gets an adaptive rear-axle air suspension and enhanced ground clearance.
First Edition
Looking to bring some hype to the i5, BMW is also offering the i5 LWB First Edition for the first 99 buyers. It gets a dedicated rear seat entertainment package featuring a tablet and tablet holder. The interior also gets exclusive BMW Individual silver bronze accents combined with fine-line open-pored fine-wood trim and silver bronze inlay. In terms of specific visuals, the car gets distinctive ‘FIRST EDITION’ laser engraving on the dashboard trim and carbon black metallic exterior paint finish with titanium bronze exterior accents.
