Apple warns about security flaw to iPhone users, 800 Million users affected

Apple has issued an warning for millions of it’s iPhone users about a security flaw that makes their  device vulnerable to hacker attacks.

According to reports, the security flaw was detected in WebKit and could affect around 800 million, which is about half of the total iPhone users around the world.

The tech giant has warned the users about two critical flaws found in WebKit, which is the browser engine that powers Safari and all browsers on iOS.

According to Apple, the security flaw leaves iPhone users vulnerable to “extremely sophisticated attack”. The critical flaw could allow hackers to be able to take control of an iPhone or iPad by using malicious websites on the compromised web browsers and trick the device into executing harmful instructions. They can allow iPhone or iPad or run code without your permission, possibly obtaining passwords or payment information.

Though, Apple has already developed a solution for the issue. It does not make all the device safe from the flaw as the patch to correct the vulnerability is available in the latest software update. So, those who have not updated to the software version will be affected.

The security flaw was seen reported in the iPhone 11 and later, the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later), the iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later), the iPad Air (3rd generation and later), the iPad (8th generation and later), and the iPad mini (5th generation and later).

How to Protect Yourself from security flaw

You can keep your iPhone and personal details safe from these vulnerabilities by upgrading to the latest version of iOS, which is iOS 26.2.
