There are a few easily avoidable measures owners can take to help their furry friend cope with the warmer months.
Dog lovers have been encouraged to do a variety of things, such as:
1. Always have fresh water available for your canine friend.
They should always be hydrated and have enough cool water to ensure they are not overheating and at risk of becoming ill from heatstroke.
2. Don’t take him out in the heat of the day.
Walking him only in the early mornings and late evenings will also protect his paws from burning on the scorching surface of a path.

3. Set up somewhere cool.
The animal should always have an indoor space with fans or an outdoor cool area that is out of direct sunlight.
4. Give him icy goodies.
Dogs love having frozen items, such as safe frozen fruit like watermelon, to keep them occupied. It will help cool them down as well. 5.
Never leave dogs in a car. Temperatures can quickly rise, becoming dangerous if any animal is left in a stationary car, even for a very short time.
By using a little care, dog owners can rest assured that their pet is well and can get through a full summer safely.
