Ganjam: Telecommunications across cyclone-ravaged Ganjam district have reached 99 percent operational coverage across blocks, with key administrative and commercial centers returning to a full 100 percent connectivity.
Intense cyclonic winds and rain had previously knocked out commercial power lines, severed fiber routes, and wrecked hundreds of cell towers across the coastal district, severely disrupting emergency coordination.

In response, major service providers—BSNL, Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea—rolled out mobile diesel generators and high-capacity battery units to re-energize offline towers. Intra-Circle Roaming was also activated, allowing displaced subscribers to connect to any operational carrier network regardless of their SIM card.
Field repair teams, working alongside local disaster response personnel, cleared debris and accessed waterlogged sites to expedite the rural network turnaround.
With 99 percent of the network footprint now stable, restoration crews are focusing on the final one percent of isolated, hard-hit pockets, with full connectivity expected shortly as local electrical grids come back online.
