Huawei unveils Mate 90 Pro Max with 12,000-nit display , a 1-inch modular camera

Huawei has unveiled Mate 90 Pro Max under its latest Mate 90 series phone in China at a cost of CNY 9,499, which is around Rs 1,36,280 in Indian Rupees. The phone is equipped with a 200MP periscope telephoto sensor within an unique 1-inch module camera system, 6.9-inch display with 12,000-nit peak brightness, 6,800mAh battery and a Kirin chipset.

Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max Specifications

The Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max phone features a large 6.9-inch dual-layer LTPO OLED display that supports 120Hz refresh rate and offers a peak brightness of 12,000 nits. It is powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro chipset, paired with up to 16GB/1TB storage option. Notably, the 12GB RAM models use a Kirin 9050.

The device runs HarmonyOS 7 and packs a 6,800mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.

The device sports a triple-rear camera setup, and supports a unique 1-inch module camera system. At the rear, the Mate 90 Pro Max houses a 50MP main camera that uses a 1/1.28-inch RYYB sensor with OIS and a continuous variable f/1.4 to f/4.0 aperture along with a 200MP periscope telephoto that features a 1/1.28-inch RYYB sensor with OIS, and 4x optical zoom. The third sensor on the phone is a 40MP ultrawide camera and has a 3rd gen red maple color sensor.

At the front, the device is equipped with a 13MP ultrawide camera along with a 3D Depth sensing camera, which can be used to take selfies and video calls.

Huawei is also selling a Mate 90 Pro Max Collector’s Edition, which supports the company’s Ruiying Z10 external camera module, which features its own 1-inch RYYB sensor and offers 10x continuous optical zoom.

The module offers 24 – 240mm focal range and an aperture range of f/2.0 to f/4.5.

The phone also offers Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, StarLight E2.0, NFC, eSIM, and comes with an IP69 rating.

Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max Price, colour options

The Mate 90 Pro Max’s price starts at CNY 9,499 (around Rs 1,36,280) for the 12GB/512GB variant, with the 16GB/512GB model priced at CNY 9,999 (around Rs 1,43,453). The Collector’s Edition is priced at CNY 10,999 (around Rs 1,57,800) for the 16GB/512GB option and CNY 12,999 (around Rs 1,86,494) for the 16GB/1TB model.

Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition Pro Camera Kit with the Z10 modular camera and other attachments is priced at CNY 19,499 (around Rs 2,79,748).

The device is offered in four colour options: Crystal White, Emerald Green, Obsidian Black, and Rose Gold color options. The Collector’s Edition, meanwhile, is only offered in the Emerald Green shade.
