Kia Seltos Hybrid India likely launch in 2027

Kia has showcased the second-generation Seltos Hybrid at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The Hybrid version of Kia’s second best-selling model is also expected to arrive in India in 2027. Kia Motors is already offering the current-generation Seltos in the Indian market.

The Seltos Hybrid is Kia’s first model to get an e-AWD system, which the company says offers more precise torque distribution and better traction. In Europe, it joins the Sportage, Niro and K4 in Kia’s hybrid line-up. The 1.6-litre petrol engine produces 102bhp and 141Nm, and the electric motor adds 129bhp and 388Nm, for a combined 178bhp.

The power goes through a six-speed DCT, and Kia claims a WLTP mileage of 14.71kmpl. It can also run on electric power alone. The India-spec model should have similar mechanicals, but with front-wheel drive.

The car on display was a top-spec X-Line variant, and it looks similar to the Seltos sold in India. The battery sits under the boot floor, so there is no spare wheel. Inside, the gear selector moves from the centre console to a stalk on the steering column, which frees up room for additional cup holders.

The cabin is finished in black and gets a dual-screen layout, a head-up display, electrically adjustable front seats with cooling function, ambient lighting, 360-degree camera, and a panoramic sunroof.

When it arrives, the Seltos will be Kia India’s third strong-hybrid model after the Sorento and Carnival, and will take on the Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and Grand Vitara. The new Hyundai Creta is also expected to get a hybrid option.
