BSNL users to get free Insurance with select mobile plans soon

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will be offering free insurance services with select mobile prepaid plans to the users. The state-run Indian telecom operator is expected to partner with an insurance service provider for offering protection to the users.

Robert J Ravi, the chairman and managing director (CMD) of BSNL, has confirmed that the telecom service provider will be the first telecom operator to take insurance to people who have not even heard about it.

The free Insurance offer will be available with select mobile plans. Under the offer, BSNL users can get an accidental coverage of Rs 1 lakh and cyber-fraud cover of Rs 10,000 on purchase of select BSNL prepaid plans.

These plans will include STV 202 and STV 2449 packs.

The company aims to help users such as farm workers, farmers, and fishermen get insurance with this offer.

Earlier, Bharti Airtel offered life insurance with it’s Rs 179 and Rs 279 recharge plans.
