Mumbai city experiences rain and thunder, dark clouds loom as monsoon inches closer

Mumbai: A pleasant weather change was brought by a short spell of rain and thunderstorm over Mumbai on Tuesday, with dense clouds casting a spell over the city and alleviating humidity.

As per the latest forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it is anticipated that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and rain will persist for several parts of Mumbai and surrounding vicinities.

Meteorologists anticipate favorable weather conditions as the south-west monsoon slowly gains pace and soon moves to Mumbai City.

Parts of the city received showers during the afternoon today bringing down temperature and improving air quality to some extent.

Weather forecasts indicate that precipitation is expected to carry on for the coming days, owing to favorable monsoon conditions across Maharashtra.
