Winter in Odisha: Temperature drops below 10 degrees in 16 places

Bhubaneswar: Cold wave continues to sweep over Odisha on Friday. The regional Meteorological Department has informed that the minimum temperatures in 16 cities of the state has dropped below 10 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile the severe cold conditions is predicted to continue to prevail for the next 2 weeks in the state.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperatures in most places are 5 to 7 degrees have been recorded below normal level. The temperature across the state has dropped to 3 degrees in the last 24 hours. The state will likely continue to shiver in bone-chilling cold till December 18.
Similarly, the night temperature has been predicted to remain below normal from December 19 to December 25.

The minimum temperature in Semilguda has been recorded at 3.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum night temperature in G. Udayagiri has dropped to 4 degrees Celsius. The Twin Cities Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have also recorded recorded temperature below 14 degrees Celsius. The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Center has predicted a severe cold wave in the state for two more days.
Along with the intense cold conditions, dense fog and frost has also been witnessed at various places of the state. Kandhamal, Sartagud area of Phulbani, and Lamtaput block of Koraput district has witnessed frost.
