‘IT on Wheels’ Programme launched at Gopalpur Port Site

Chhatrapur: Adani Foundation, under its CSR initiative at Adani Gopalpur Port, launched the ‘IT on Wheels’ programme under Project Utthan to strengthen digital literacy among government school students in the port’s peripheral areas.
The mobile computer education initiative was flagged off today by Krushna Chandra Nayak, MLA, Chhatrapur, and V. Keerthi Vasan, Collector and District Magistrate, Ganjam, at the Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya campus in Chamakhandi.
Among others Ajay Kumar Patra, DEO Ganjam, Prabhati Mohapatra ADEO Ganjam and Shri Pramod Kumar Behera Principal OAV Chamakhandi were present during the inauguration.
Equipped with 30 laptops and supported by a trained instructor, the mobile computer laboratory will visit two schools every day and will provide students with structured computer training and hands-on digital learning opportunities.

In the current phase, the programme will cover 12 upper primary schools across five panchayats in the Gopalpur Port peripheral area, benefiting a total of 814 students from Classes VI to VIII.
The programme offers a structured three-year learning journey covering computer fundamentals, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and responsible digital usage. Combining theoretical instruction with practical experience, it seeks to help students develop confidence in using technology for education and everyday activities.
‘IT on Wheels’ is a digital literacy initiative of the Adani Foundation under Project Utthan, designed to improve access to technology-enabled education, particularly for students in underserved communities. By taking computer learning directly to school campuses, the programme seeks to enhance students’ digital competencies, encourage independent learning and prepare them for an increasingly technology-driven world.
