Maruti Suzuki might increase production of new Brezza as bookings reach almost 1 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki is reportedly planning to ramp up the production of the new Brezza as it witnessed a surge in demand following it’s launch this year. The company has claimed that the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza has received nearly 1 lakh of bookings till now.
Maruti has reported a backlog of 1.8 lakh as of September, out of which, 95,000 are for the Brezza alone. With the surge in bookings, the supply is unable to keep pace with rising demand.
Although, most of the bookings received are for the 1.0L Boosterjet (turbo) version of the Brezza, CNG continues to be the dominant powertrain preference.

An underbody CNG tank takes due credit, given that it does not eat into the boot. The Brezza is the second model to get such an implementation, following the Victoris. New features include a wireless charging pad with active cooling, electric sunroof, new HVAC control, and new second-row headrests.
The 1.0-litre Boosterjet churns out 108bhp/170Nm, which is currently found in the Fronx. But the Fronx churns out 99bhp/147Nm with the same engine, which means the Brezza has a higher state of tune. Suzuki Japan has also charted out a 100kg weight reduction plan that proposes substituting the metal CNG tank (60kg) with a resin unit (20kg), resulting in a 40kg weight reduction.
