There must be coordination among all departments to strengthen coastal security in Odisha: Chief Secretary

Bhubaneswar: The Coastal Security Branch of Odisha Police organized the “State Level Coastal Security Conference-2026” at the Police Bhawan. The conference discussed in detail the problems, solutions and future course of action in the coastal security system.
The Chief Secretary Anu Garg graced the concluding session of the conference as the chief guest. “The role of coastal security is very important in achieving the goal of “Prosperous Odisha,” she said.
“With the rapid development of new ports, fish landing centers, industrial projects and maritime infrastructure in Odisha, the importance of the coastal region is also increasing. Along with this, there are many problems, but these problems cannot stop our progress. Moreover, coastal security is not the responsibility of the police or a single department alone; it is a coordinated effort,” she added.

Garg further said in that by working as a team with all the departments and security agencies, we can build a strong and secure coastal system. The Odisha government is fully committed to enhancing the efficiency of the coastal security branch, using modern technology, developing human resources and creating necessary infrastructure.
The state government is always ready to fulfill whatever is required to further strengthen coastal security. Through more resources, more technology and more coordination, the coast of Odisha will be further protected and enabled, she guested.
