Motorola Edge 70 Max launched in India with a 7,100mAh battery

Motorola has launched the first Edge 70 series smartphone in India – the Edge 70 Max on Wednesday. The new smartphone comes with a large 6.8-inch display, and a 7,100 mAh battery. The device is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.

The latest Motorola  smartphone is equipped with an 6.8-inch AMOLED display with an Quad HD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 144Hz, a claimed peak brightness of 7,000 nits, and HDR10+ support. It also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, the device is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

The phone boots Android 16 and is promised to receive 3 OS upgrades along with 5 years of security updates.

The Edge 70 Max sports a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-in-1 light sensor. On the front, it features a 32MP selfie camera housed inside a centered hole-punch cutout.

A 7,100mAh battery powers the smartphone. The battery supports 90W wired charging and 25W magnetic wireless charging.

The handset also offers an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, and MIL-STD-810H certification. The device has an aluminum frame, and comes with Gorilla Glass 7i protection on both the front and back.

Other features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, GPS, dual-SIM 5G connectivity, and USB Type-C.

Price, colour options, sale

The Motorola Edge 70 Max is priced at Rs 54,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant, while the 12GB/256GB model costs Rs 59,999. It comes in three colour options of Pantone Dark Shadow, Pantone Ice Melt, and Pantone Aqua Gray. The device will go on sale starting from July 20, 2026.
