Redmi Turbo 5 to launch in India soon: Expected specifications, price, and more

Redmi is set to unveil the Redmi Turbo 5 smartphone as the first smartphone in the brand’s Turbo series on June 16th at 1:30 PM IST. The device has been confirmed to carry different specification in comparison to it’s Chinese counterpart. The device will carry a 7,540mAh battery with 100W HyperCharge support instead of 7,560mAh unit found on the Chinese version.

The Redmi Turbo 5 has been teased in three colour options: White, Green, and Black.

The launch event will be livestreamed on the company’s official social media platforms and YouTube channel.

Though, there is no information on the price of the Redmi Turbo 5, if we look at the cost of the Chinese variant, which costs CNY 2,299(around Rs 30,000), then the Indian model will likely come in the sub-Rs 40,000 category.

The device sports flat edges with a punch-hole display, which has been confirmed to be a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,200 nits peak brightness. Redmi has not confirmed the size of the display, but reports have suggested that it could be around 6.59 inches.

Powering the Redmi Turbo 5 will be the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Moreover, it will feature a large 5300mm2 VC cooling to dissipate heat during demanding workloads.

For optics, the Redmi Turbo 5 will be equipped with a 50MP primary camera with OIS and EIS support. It will sport an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. At front, the device will feature a 20MP front camera. The cameras are placed in two individual rings with built in light at the back.

The LED flash will be mounted next to the top sensor, while at the bottom, the phone will have Redmi branding etched.

The lights built into the camera rings will play the role of a visual interface for notifications, charging states, gaming, and music playback.

The Indian model will pack a 7,540mAh battery with 100W HyperCharge support.
