Missile successfully tested from Chandipur Test Range in Balasore

Balasore: India conducted a successful test of an important missile from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, Balasore on day afternoon. The missile was launched at 3:50 PM from Launch Pad-3.

Defence sources said the test met all technical parameters and hit the designated target.

As a precaution, district administration evacuated around 11,442 people living within 1 to 3.5 km of the launch pad. Tight security arrangements were made by police around the test range during the test.

Earlier, there was a successful test of the short-range ballistic missile ‘Agni-1’ from Chandipur last month. That test was carried out under the direct supervision of the Strategic Forces Command, under the Ministry of Defence. The missile cleared all technical benchmarks and struck its intended target.

Chandipur ITR remains India’s key facility for testing missiles and defence systems before induction.
