East Coast Railway to run special trains for Suna Besha and Adharapana rituals

Bhubaneswar: To ensure a comfortable and smooth journey for devotees on the occasion of the world-famous Rath Yatra-2026 of Lord Jagannath, East Coast Railway is running special trains from various parts of Odisha and neighbouring states to manage the increased passenger traffic.
In addition to the regular train services to and from Puri, the East Coast Railway has arranged several special trains to facilitate the movement of thousands of devotees on the occasion of Suna Besha and Adharapana rituals. These special train services have been planned keeping in mind almost all the regions of Odisha to provide convenient rail connectivity to devotees coming to Puri during the festival.
On the occasion of Suna Besha, special trains will run from Paradeep, Anugala, Bhadrak, Talacher, Kendrapada Road, Dhenkanal, Baleshwar, Brahmapur, Kendujhargarh, Khordha Road and Dashpalla to Puri.
Similarly, special trains will run from Puri to Talacher, Badampaha, Dhenkanal, Bangiriposhi, Rayagada, Bhadrak, Anugola, Gunupur, Rourkela, Dashpalla, Sambalpur, Palasa, Visakhapatnam and Shalimar.

Keeping in view the additional passenger rush on the occasion of Adharapana, East Coast Railway will also run special trains from Brahmapur, Dashpalla, Anugola, Kendujhargarh, Paradeep, Bhadrak and Khordha Road to Puri. Similarly, special trains will run from Puri to Talacher, Dhenkanal, Bangiriposhi, Bhadrak, Anugola, Dashpalla, Khordha Road, Brahmapur, Keonjhargarh and Paradeep.
The Ministry of Railways and the East Coast Railway have made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth travel of pilgrims and pilgrims. A 24×7 control room has been set up to resolve the problems of passengers and monitor the smooth running of trains. In addition, additional ticket booking and mobile ticket counters, train enquiry and information centres, continuous public announcements, crowd management system, video wall displays, UTS facility on mobile, special waiting areas for pilgrims, enhanced security arrangements, catering services, medical assistance with ambulances, uninterrupted power and water supply, cleanliness, drinking water and adequate toilet facilities have been made available.
