Volkswagen has launched the Tayron Life in the Indian market. The five-seater Volkswagen Tayron is priced at Rs. 41.99 lakh, ex-showroom. This is Rs 5 lakh cheaper than the Tayron R-Line, which costs Rs 46.99.

The new Volkswagen Tayron Life is similar to the Tayron R-Line except for it’s seating configuration, and some premium feature reduction and some other minor details.

Unlike the seven-seater Tayron R-Line, the Tayron Life is five-seater car model. Moreover, the Tayron Life sports a new alloy wheel design in comparison to the R-Line. It is a size smaller than the 19-inch units on the R-Line.

Moreover, the bumper, which more simple than the R-Line, also does not include the R branding. The Rs branding is also not present on the door and steering wheel. Inside, the car also gets a dual-tone interior upholstery treatment.

The feature list sees a few step-downs compared to the R-Line as well. The infotainment screen is a 12.9-inch unit rather than the R-Line’s 15-inch display, the audio system drops to an eight-speaker setup from the R-Line’s more premium Harman Kardon unit, and the massage function for the front seats is carried over. That said, the Tayron Life does retain several of the Tayron’s meaningful equipment such as illuminated front and rear logos with connected lights, ambient lighting, wireless charging, a digital instrument cluster, powered front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

Under the bonnet, there is no compromise. The Tayron Life runs the same 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 201bhp and 320Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

At Rs. 41.99 lakh, the Tayron Life also undercuts the Tiguan R-Line, currently priced at Rs. 47.11 lakh as a CBU import.
