Anthropic has introduced a new feature called Personal Finance for its AI chatbot Claude, allowing users to analyse their financial activities by connecting their bank and credit card accounts.
The feature aims to make money management easier through AI-powered insights and personalised spending analysis.
With Personal Finance, users can ask Claude questions about their account balances, monthly expenses, upcoming bills, and recurring payments in simple language.
The tool can also categorise transactions, generate monthly spending charts, identify duplicate charges and highlight unexpected fees.

The feature connects financial accounts through Plaid, a service that securely links banking institutions with applications. According to Anthropic, Claude will have read-only access to the connected accounts and cannot transfer money, manage funds, or make investments on behalf of users.
Anthropic has also highlighted privacy measures, stating that conversations within the Personal Finance section will not be used to train its AI models. The feature will not display advertisements or sponsored financial recommendations.
Currently, Personal Finance is being rolled out in beta to Pro, Max and Ultra subscribers in the United States. It is available across Claude’s web, desktop, and mobile applications, with access being gradually extended to eligible users.
