Although rainwater seems pure at first glance, experts have said that consuming it without any purification process isn’t safe as the water might contain several harmful pollutants, dust, and germs accumulated during its fall and collect them from different surfaces during the process of storing them.
It is also found to be contaminated by things like bird poop, leaves and mud. However, boiling can eradicate germs but is not helpful in removing chemicals and heavy metals.

Fact: It is an effective remedy for getting rid of germs but the harmful chemicals remain even after boiling.
Experts suggest that before consuming, it is advisable to filter the rainwater, and disinfect it too.
