Orientation Programme for newly inducted Sub-Inspectors of Central Range concludes successfully

Kataka: An orientation programme for around 80 newly inducted Sub-Inspectors of the Central Range was successfully conducted today at the Padhee Memorial Hall, IPS Officers’ Mess, Cuttack, by the Office of the Inspector General of Police, Central Range, Kataka.
The programme was organised with the objective of sensitising and equipping the newly inducted officers with essential knowledge, professional guidance and practical insights into contemporary policing, emerging challenges and their responsibilities as police officers.
The programme was conducted under the able leadership and guidance of Vinaytosh Mishra, DGP (HoPF). Dr. Satyajit Naik, IGP, Central Range, Kataka, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and interacted with the newly inducted Sub-Inspectors.
The participating officers comprised newly inducted Sub-Inspectors from all seven districts under the Central Range, namely Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Puri, Khordha and Nayagarh.
Addressing the newly inducted officers, Dr. Satyajit Naik, IGP, Central Range, emphasised the importance of discipline, professional integrity, sensitivity towards citizens and strict adherence to the rule of law. He encouraged the young officers to discharge their responsibilities with commitment, impartiality and professionalism and to continuously upgrade their knowledge and skills in view of the rapidly changing nature of crime and policing.
Madkar Sandeep Sampat, DIG, Crime Branch, attended the programme as the Guest of Honour and delivered an insightful session on the contemporary dimensions of cybercrime. He sensitised the newly inducted officers about emerging forms of cyber offences, the challenges involved in dealing with technology-enabled crimes and the importance of developing adequate technological awareness and investigative capabilities to effectively respond to cybercrime.

Dr. Ram Kishore Sharma, National Career Services and former Head, NCDS, Government of India, joined the programme as the Resource Person and interacted with the officers on professional development and various aspects relevant to their career and responsibilities. His session provided the newly inducted officers with valuable perspectives on professional growth, workplace challenges and the importance of developing a balanced and responsible approach towards their duties.
Senior police officers from the Central Range also participated in the programme and interacted with the newly inducted Sub-Inspectors.
Parmar Smit, Khordha SP, Prateek Singh Puri SP, Vinith Agarwal, Cuttack SP, Sidharth Kateria, Kendrapara SP, Subhendu Patra, Nayagarh SP, and Ankit Kumar Verma, Jagatsinghpur SP, shared their experiences and provided valuable guidance to the young officers on field-level policing, leadership, professional conduct and effective discharge of responsibilities.
The programme also provided an opportunity for the newly inducted Sub-Inspectors to directly interact with senior officers and domain experts and gain a broader understanding of the expectations associated with their new roles. The sessions focused on strengthening professional competence, developing leadership qualities, understanding emerging challenges and ensuring a citizen-centric approach to policing.
Additional SP Ashwin Kumar Sahoo and Additional SP Minakshi Thakur facilitated and coordinated the programme. The orientation concluded with an emphasis on professional excellence, ethical conduct, technological preparedness, sensitivity towards citizens and an unwavering commitment to justice and public service.
