Skoda Elroq with over 560km range unveils globally
by Sunita · KalingaTVSkoda has launched an all-new electric SUV called, Elroq. It has debuted as the brand’s first ever EV in the midsize SUV category. The new Skoda Elroq EV features the brand’s Modern Solid design language. It is placed between the company’s flagship Enyaq iV and the upcoming Epiq compact EV, which is slated to launch in 2025.
Meanwhile, the company has hinted it is considering bringing the CUV to the Indian market. Upon its launch, it will rival Tata Curvv EV, upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti eVX, among others.
Skoda Elroq exterior design
The Elroq comes with the company’s Modern Solid design language that has the significant ‘Tech-Deck Face’. It sports a new black panel with segmented LED daytime running lamp(DRLs, vertical air vents. The front bumper has been revamped with thick plastic cladding, a faux silver skid plate, and active cooling vents that automatically shut to reduce air resistance.
It features stylish multi-spoke wheels, and Enyaq like tallamps, dual tone bumper, and the SKODA lettering instaed of the traditional brand logo at the bonnet and the tailget.

It features a winged design dashboard that includes a 13-inch central infotainment screen with AC vents, which is same as the larger Enyaq. However, it gets a new steering wheel and a sleek digital instrument cluster. The dashboard has a row of physical buttons for features like driver assistance systems, drive modes, climate controls and other functions.
It has many in-cabin storage compartments offering up to 48-litres of space and has a boot capacity of 470-litres. The company claims the upholstery is made from recycled PET bottles, nylon sourced from fishing nets and even recycled polyester were used in the interior elements.
Skoda Elroq platform, powertrain and range
Skoda Elroq is offered in three battery and powertrains options. It has a entry level 52kWh battery pack and a 170hp rear-mounted motor, yielding a claimed range of more than 370km on the WLTP cycle. Another 59kWh battery and 204hp motor pack that offers a range of more than 385km, while the range-topping 85 variant gets a significantly larger 77kWh battery and 285hp, with more than 560km of range per charge.
According to the company, the EV SUV can got from 0-100kph in 6.6 seconds (85 version) and a top-speed of 180kph.
The 50 and 60 can both be charged at up to 145kW, going from 10-80 percent in 25 minutes, and the bigger 85 pack can take 175kW, completing the same recharge in 28 minutes. The 85 variant can also be had in AWD guise with an additional motor on the front axle, although it will be made available only in 2025.
