New Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally launched in India; Price starts at Rs 98,310

Yamaha has launched the latest iteration of the Ray ZR Street Rally in India. The price of the motorcycle is set at Rs 98,130 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2024 Ray ZR Street Rally features an LED daytime running lamp (DRL), and a dual-tone seat. It has an Answer Back function, which the company calls as Yamaha Scooter Answer Back, allows the rider to locate his vehicle by turning on the indicators and sounding the horn for approximately two seconds. The application-based function can be used with the help of a mobile app. It is activated with a click of the Answer Back button on the mobile app.

Yamaha has also updated the design and styling of the scooter. It now has a digital instrument cluster (with Bluetooth connectivity), a brush guard, an automatic start-and-stop system, a telescopic setup, block pattern tyres, and a side-stand engine cut-off. The scooter offers ample storage space with an underseat storage of 21 litres.

Powertrain

The 2024 Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally continues to be powered by a 125cc air-cooled fuel-injected 4-stroke SOHC 2-valve hybrid engine like the current model. The engine comes with a smart motor generator (SMG) system. The engine produces 8.2bhp at 6,500rpm and 10.3Nm at 5,000rpm using a CVT.

Colour options, availability

The 2024 Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally is available in three colour options: Cyber Green (new), Matte Black, and Ice Fluo-Vermillion. However, the Ice Fluo-Vermillion can only be bought exclusively at Yamaha Blue Square showrooms. The new scooter is available for booking at all Yamaha showrooms across the country.

Meanwhile, Yamaha recently launched the 2024 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition models of the YZF-R15M and the MT-15 V2.0 in India at a price of Rs. 1.99 lakh, Rs. 1.74 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom), respectively. Like the Ice Fluo-Vermillion variant of Ray ZR Street Rally, the special editions are available exclusively at Yamaha’s Blue Square dealerships across India.

Another Blue Square showroom exclusive product is the Carbon Edition version of the R15M that costs Rs 2.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It was intially Showcased at the inaugural Bharat Mobility Expo in February 2024.
