Missing minor boy found dead in Cuttack river after overnight search

Cuttack: A boy who went missing while taking bath in a river in Cuttack has been found dead on Friday after a massive rescue operation by the fire service team.

As per reports, the boy along with three other school students went to a river for bathing and while taking bath, they were swept away by a heavy current in Sidua branch of the Kathajodi river near Jaripada village under Cuttack Sadar police station limits on Thursday afternoon.

While three of the students swam to the bank, the fourth student could not be traced and his parents immediately informed the administration.

Following which, a search operation was launched by firemen from Baranga Fire Station.

After searching overnight, the body of the student has been recovered from the river today.

Meanwhile, police have seized and sent the body for postmortem. It will be handed over to the family members after the completion of autopsy.
