Hyundai is set to launch the Bayon SUV tomorrow that is on 26 October. Ahead of the official price reveal, the company has confirmed the safety design and design of the new mid-size SUV. It is available for re-bookings for a token amount of Rs 11,000 on the official website and authorised dealerships.
It sits between the Venue and Creta. It gets a mature SUV silhouette with split headlamps and taillights, with an inverted L-shaped unit for the LED DRLs and brake lights. The mis-size SUV sports dual-tone spoiler, Bayon lettering on the tailgate, faux skid plates, large dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, contrast-coloured shark-fin antenna, and ORVMs.
It is packed with many features such as a dual 12.3-inch screen dashboard, a panoramic sunroof, new centre console, dual-tone upholstery, wireless charging, automatic climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, a 411-litre boot, an eight-speaker Bose sound system and more.
Under the hood, the new Bayon will be available in a single powertrain – 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor, that develops 113bhp and 144Nm. This engine will be paired with six-speed manual and CVT units. While a turbo-petrol and diesel have been ruled out for now, a CNG version is expected to be on offer later.
