Kia teases new BEV, HEV for India, Expected to be Syros EV and Sorento Hybrid

Kia India has released the teaser of it’s upcoming cars. Kia has hinted that the upcoming could be a pure Electric Vehicle (EV) and another one a Hybrid offering.
The teaser showcases the underpinnings of its upcoming offerings as BEV and HEV.
Reports have suggested that the BEV cpould be a hint for the Syros EV while the HEV could be for the Kia Sorento hybrid.

The Kia Syros EV is expected to be placed under the sub-4m electric category. Kia has already confirmed the sub-4m electric to have a July premiere. The Syros EV is expected to be based on the international-spec Hyundai Inster EV. It is speculated to be offered with 42kWh, 95bhp/147Nm and 49kWh, 113bhp/147Nm battery + motor configurations. The other features expected is a floor pan-mounted battery pack warrants a stiffer setup.
Meanwhile, the Kia Sorento hybrid will likely arrive as a flagship offering. It is rumoured to feature a flatbed bodyshell and could be offered as a seven-seater plug-in hybrid in India. It could be listed as the segment’s most powerful offering with 261bhp/350Nm via a 1.6-litre turbo + EV setup.
It will rival the likes of Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron R-Line, MG Majestor, and the Toyota Fortuner.
