There’s something about sci-fi/fantasy that has always drawn in Black fans. Maybe it’s the idea of living in a new society, maybe it’s the possibility of having magic powers, or maybe it’s just the dragons. Whatever the reason, we can’t get enough of fantastical storytelling, and clearly Hollywood knows it. With a new “Harry Potter” series on the way; “House of the Dragon” Season 3 coming at some point; a new “Star Wars” trilogy in development; and the Marvel Cinematic Universe once again finding its footing, there’s no shortage of fresh sci-fi/fantasy stories to get invested in. To that end, we thought it was time to explore Black fans’ favorite sci-fi/fantasy universes. And yes, we are including comic book franchises in our list.
