ReMarkable Paper Pure claimed to be 50% faster than last-gen model

ReMarkable's progress has been quite, well, remarkable. Despite being in the shadow of Amazon's Kindle ecosystem, it (and Kobo, Boox, Supernote…) have put out nicer and more useful e-ink devices than the tech giant, forcing it to keep pace. Now there are fast-refreshing color models from all the big names, but ReMarkable is going back to basics for its latest model. The Paper Pure is monochrome.

So satisfyingly simple, just pick up your pen and write on our best black and white paper tablet. Paper-like feel. Write on a surface made of matte glass with the texture of real paper. Focus friendly. This paper tablet won't interrupt your work. It doesn't buzz, notify, or nudge, leaving you in peace with your ideas.

Priced at $399, its more affordable than other models (such as the Paper Pro and Amazon's Scribe) and is claimed to be 50% faster, with 20% greater contrast and 30% greater battery life, than the reMarkable 2 it replaces in the stable.

Also, there's a lovable committment to the user's right to repair, it's made with normal screws, no glue, so "most components can be easily changed by a repair specialist." Having just attempted to repair an LED light panel that needed only one trace fixed only to find the damn thing completely entombed in epoxy, I'm currently big on this feature!

The sleeve (part of a $50 upsell package with the newest model of pen) comes in pink, blue, and that "institutional control panel green" you're seeing everywhere lately.
