Bizarre indie animation about ducks is absolutely delightful

We love indie animation in this house. As tools for both 2D and 3D animation continue to become more widespread and accessible, the creativity in the output of hobbyists sitting in their bedrooms often rivals that of large studios. If anything, we know for a fact they're not in it for the money, because independent creative work pays terribly unless your parents have a Wikipedia page.

That creativity is on full display in DUCKS, a recent short by indie animator AJ Jefferies that's as endearing as it is utterly bizarre. Describing its plot, inasmuch as it has one, is… difficult… but if I had to guess, I'd say it's about the transformative power of greed. Or something.

This is why you don't feed ducks bread. It's educational!
